SM Fiber pigtails

Removed from unused 1.55um optical systems(systems are optical switch module, OOO module by Calient Networks). Fibers are long enough. Internal sleeve of the LC adapter is bronze.

3 meter, simplex 3mm-diameter Siecor cable, in original bag. Corning supplied to JDS. Corning Product Id: 37581293JD-03. JDS Product ID: J-SCSC-R-003-ZT.Much lower price for more qty.You can cut it as two SC/UPC pigtails.

4 meter, simplex 900um-buffer. Fiberconnect model: PC2CUCUI-4-0, comes with individual test report sheet. Made in Canada. HINT: You can cut the patchcord in half and fuse them as Pigtails. We have used some of them to fusion-splice with standard fiber in our lab. Verified no problem to fusion-splice with standard SM fiber.

9/125/900um standard single-mode fiber (900um-buffered). We verified by fiber scope that the fiber is single-mode. It is made by Seikoh Giken Co, Ltd. Supplied for JDS in July 2000 or Nov. 1999. You can also cut the jumper to make two fiber pigtails.

It is 9/125/250um Corning standard SM fiber, based on the product label information of similar JDS model.HINT: You can cut the patchcord in half and fuse them as pigtails. SC/APC connector at one end of the fiber. It was cut from jumper J-SUSU-A-005-JT ("SUSU" means SC/APC-SC/APC jumper, "A" mean 900um buffer). It was supplied to CIENA 1.5xum DWDM systems. It is 9/125um standard SM fiber, based on the information of FC-version fiber jumpers J-FPFP-A-00x-JT.

We opened and checked one sample, there is no fusion-splice between 900um buffered fiber and ribbon fiber (see 3rd and 4th photos below). There is about 0.25-meter 900um buffered fiber with 12 MU connectors at one end, about 1.2-meter ribbon fiber on the other side. Total length about 1.5-meter (spec: >1.35-meter). The price is for one cabel (you will get total 12pc MU pigtails)

We have tested about 20pc of FC/PC version of fiber pigtails/jumpers JDS P/N: J-FPFP-A-002-JT, J-FPFP-A-003-JT, J-FPFP-A-004-JT, J-FPFP-A-005-JT (similar model to J-LCLC-A-004-JT , except LC connector ) jumpers at 1.55um wavelength at our lab. RL of J-FPFP-A samples are verified <-50dB, typically around 55dB approximately. Average loss <0.08dB, and typical insertion loss is <0.1dB. So LC connector of J-LCLC-A-004-JT jumper should be equivalent to LC/UPC, since RL is <-50dB.

We have verified this fiber can fusion-splice with standard Corning SMF-28 well at low splice loss.
