The ASE-110 is an ultra-wide, high-power,broadband source spanning both the erbium C and L bands. It utilizes amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) from diode-pumped Er3+ doped fiber to produce unpolarized light output spread over a 40-nm band centered at 1590 nm. With its broad, quasi-flat emission spectrum and eye-safe wavelength, the ASE-110 is well suited for a wide range of applications. These include wavelength-dependent loss and PMD measurements of DWDM-system components, gain and gain-flatness measurements of EDFAs, local networking by spectral slicing, fiber-optic sensors and white-light interferometry. An RS232 bus option is available.
