We fusion-spliced two FC/APC connectors in 3mm SMF-28e cable. Splice loss is very low. We tested spool loss is 6.1dB at 1.55um. We measured the fiber attenuation is only 0.202dB/km by OTDR. So there is extra bending loss(about 0.6dB) involved near two fiber spools ends. Fiber length is measured as 25.895, assuming effective refractive index is same as Lucent normal SM fiber 1.4666.

Test data on another spool sample (FSC-SMF-SPOOL-351D) : Zero dispersion wavelength: 1315.05nm, dispersion slope at zero dispersion wavelength: 0.0855 ps /(nm2*km), spool length: 25.794km, tested by our local dispersion-test contractor at last pdf link below (see spool 20), with GN Nettest dispersion receiver FD440 RX and transmitter FD440 TX, in July 2013. So it is G.652 fiber, i.e, standard SMF.
