58.397km SMF-28 bare fiber spool, with two FC/APC connectors. fiber spool loss is slightly higher than expected due to extra bending loss.

We have added FC/APC Corning SMF-28e fiber connectors at both fiber ends, by fusion-splice, in 3mm-cable.

CONDITION:

Looks OK. Some part of fiber are loose near external spool end, so we apply tape to make fiber tightly on spool. There is extra fiber bending loss, so fiber spool loss is slightly higher than expected, as shown in the label of 2nd photo. Original fiber spool length was 60.86km. About 2km fiber is cut from external spool end, we found break point, and add FC/APC connector at this new fiber end. Length from this FC/APC connector to fiber internal spool end is measured as 58.397km by OTDR at our lab (we set effective refractive index Neff as 1.4682). To get lower spool loss (lower fiber bending loss), the spool side with product label should be placed at the top.
