Nortel Continuous Wavelength (CW) Fixed Laser. 900um-buffered PMF pigtail, with FC/PC fiber connector (PMF is verified in our lab). This type of 20mW CW laser was used in in Nortel OPTERA OC-192 100GHz (or 50GHz)-spacing DWDM long-haul transmission system products with external modulation around year 2000-2002. Incorporating a Fabry-Perot etalon and two monitor photodiodes, the CW laser may be “locked” to the ITU grid and wavelength can be maintained to within +/-20pm over temperature and life. Note: The pinout info of LC155CDCxxxx-20 is not standard. It can still fit 14-pin butterfly laser mount at your lab. If you use it to make products, the PCB layout has to be different from before. This Nortel laser offers wavelength locking feature. Users do not have to use this special feature, you can only use standard feature. There are two monitors. Based on its wavelength control theory, our conclusion is: You can use either one monitor to detect power. As shown at the graph at the bottom of pdf specification page 2, two detectors have almost same responsivity amplitude at working wavelength. Two monitors have opposite spectrum slope which will be used for wavelength control.
