The output power of SLT5414-xA is 10mW at “1” code of signal (Ppeak) and 5mW of average of “1” code and “0” code (Pave). If you use it for CW mode(continuous wave), it would support 10mW (continuous “1” code) at worst case, but the manufacturer test sheet normally only gives data at average power 5mW. The life time may change if you use as 10mW at CW mode, see reliability report at last pdf link below.SLT5411, SLT5413 are designed for external modulation with PMF, so normal lasing condition is CW mode (continuous wave).
