Siecor model S46999-M9-A8 Fiber Cleaver, high precision, long life, easy to use

high precision (cleave angle< 0.5°, so it is excellent for fusion splicer). long-life (typically > 10,000 cleaves). S46999-M9-A8 Fiber Cleaver is used to cleave all common single- and multimode glass fibers plus special fiber types (LS, DS and NZDS fibers such as TrueWave™ and LEAF™) with a cladding diameter of 125µm.See pdf datasheet in 1st and 3rd (page 2) pdf links below. We tried all 9 cleavers of this model to cut SMF-28 fiber pigtails (either 900um buffered and 250um-coating fiber), viewed the fiber endface with Ericsson splicer, all shows low cleave angle and low gap angle, then fusion-spliced them and showing low splice loss(0.01-0.04dB). We have used one of same model (this one is not for sale) in our lab for long time and it does perfect job.We love this kind of cleaver, one-step procedure is much easier to use than traditional 3-step cleavers of other makers (sumitomo, Ericsson, Fujitsu, etc.).
