Variable Fiber Optic Delay Line for 1550nm, with manual micrometer and 40dB return loss. Pigtails are 1 meter long, 3mm OD PVC cabled 9/125 PM fibers, Super FC/PC connectors. P/N: ODL-200-11-1550-9/125-P-40-3S3S-3-1The photo below shows two optic delay lines with Aluminum plate. The listed price and weight is for one optic delay line. You will get the Aluminum plate if you buy two optic delay lines. The max travelable length is determined by micrometer, so it cannot be longer than the spec: 25cm.Fiber Optic Delay Lines (ODL) consist of an input and output fiber collimator to project the light into free space and collect it again into a fiber. The distance the light travels in free space is precisely controlled, either by controlling the separation between the input and output optics, or by reflecting the light off a movable reflector. In either case, by varying the distance the light travels, one can control the delay time through the device.

CONDITION:

looks good, micrometer feels good. We have tested at our lab, insertion loss is about 0.77dB at minimum distance, about 0.99dB at maximum distance (25mm range), at 1.55um, launched by SMF fiber (we can try PMF source if very need).
