Since the internal sleeve is bronze, so insertion loss might be a little bit higher than the adapter with ceramic sleeve, but generally it is still ok for single mode fiber, which is confirmed by AFOP technical support and also our test. See general specification of year 2004 version and year 1999 version at pdf links below. 1st pdf link below shows insertion loss of bronze-sleeve adapter is < 0.3dB. We have tested 4 samples at our lab with various brands of fiber jumpers, insertion loss meets <0.3dB, some even <0.1dB depending on fiber jumpers. Price is for one adapter.
